Accounting Generalist SUMMARY: The Accounting Generalist is responsible for a broad range of Accounting and Finance systems and functions, driving process improvement. Ensure SOX compliance in all accounting documentation and written processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs three-way match of invoices, vendor purchase orders, and pack lists Processes AP invoices Processes and files vendor add/change requests Processes weekly check/ACH/wire runs Reviews accounts payable reports and pack lists to ensure no outstanding items Prepare monthly AP accrual Process and file annual 1099 forms Scan all AP/AR documentation into imaging system Designs, prepares, and maintains spreadsheets using appropriate calculations/formulas Reconciles transactions, financial data, and other information to an automated accounting system Assists in making appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals with the organization Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable Ensures compliance to all established SOX controls and procedures Assists in all internal/external audits Responsible for compiling documentation and data entry of all new vendors and changes to existing vendors (MDS – Master Data Specialist) Assist other departments as required
Assist Controller in other monthly tasks as instructed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree in Accounting, Accounting Certification, or an equivalent combination required
Five to seven years of experience preferred. Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of employees and outside contacts (Customer, Other Myer’s Companies, Other Departments, Suppliers). Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Must take initiative to utilize problem solving skills Proficient working abilities within Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Work conditions consistent with a general office environment. Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment.
