About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to support our accounting and payroll functions. This is an office-based role in Schaumburg and is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, accuracy in data entry, and experience supporting accounting operations in a construction-related environment.
Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred, and experience working with union contracts, certified payroll, and union audits is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing, including accurate data entry of employee hours
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Prepare and assist with certified payroll reporting
- Manage lien waivers and related project documentation
- Conduct account follow-ups with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Assist with union audit preparation and documentation
- Track and maintain certificates of insurance
- Support accounting recordkeeping, filing, and general administrative tasks
- Communicate professionally with employees, vendors, customers, and project teams
- Assist with additional accounting duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous accounting, payroll, or bookkeeping experience required
- Construction accounting experience preferred
- Experience with union contracts, union payroll, or certified payroll a plus
- Familiarity with AR, AP, payroll, lien waivers, and insurance certificates preferred
- Experience with Monday.com and ComputerEase a plus
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
