Accounting Coordinator

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator with a strong, numbers-driven mindset to join our greater finance team. In this role, you will support day-to-day functions by reviewing and processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and responding to inquiries from vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining accuracy while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Foster a customer-service focused and employee-supportive culture within the finance department and across the organization; Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and staff at all levels (site and office) to gather information and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner; Review incoming invoices to ensure compliance with company requirements, including accuracy of taxes (GST/PST), proper coding, and required approvals prior to processing; Code, post, and process invoices and employee expense reimbursements within established timelines; Reconcile vendor accounts and credit card statements; Post cash receipts and bank deposits; Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable aging reports for projects, identifying outstanding items and following up with the appropriate team members to support timely resolution and collection; Gather audit documentation and assist with other Accounts Payable, accounting tasks, and projects as required.

Skills & Experience

At least one to two (1-2) years of experience in accounting or a related field; Degree, diploma, or certification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field; Excellent business communication skills, with both verbal and written communications;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment. Experience with the Orion ERP system is considered an asset. Prior experience in a heavy equipment rental environment is considered an asset.
