Accounting Consultant

Job Description

One of our clients is looking to hire an Accounting Consultant in Atlanta, GA. This organization is in the midst of a divestiture, with two additional entities set to be carved out by the end of August or September. The role calls for a hands-on accounting professional who can jump into the details and support the accounting function across the board during this transition period. Purchase accounting or technical accounting experience is a strong plus given the nature of the work. This is an approximately two-month engagement with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role depending on the acquiring company's decision once the divestiture is finalized. Compensation is broad depending on level of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple functional areas during the divestiture process
• Assist with technical and purchase accounting matters related to the entity carve-outs
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure clean, accurate financial reporting throughout the transition
• Roll up sleeves to resolve accounting issues and fill gaps as priorities shift

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including divestiture or carve-out work
• Purchase accounting or technical accounting background preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
• Able to work onsite 3 days per week in Atlanta, GA
