Summary
The Accounting Intern is a member of the Corporate Finance team and provides support for the accounting operations of a multi-site manufacturing organization. This role offers hands-on experience in core accounting functions, with primary responsibilities in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, while providing opportunities to learn and assist with additional accounting, financial reporting, and manufacturing accounting activities. The Accounting Intern reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Job Functions
Apply customer payments received via lockbox, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card to customer accounts. Prepare, process, and distribute customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner. Monitor customer invoicing portals and research and resolve invoice submission or rejection issues. Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system and reconcile vendor statements. Assist with month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and other accounting projects as assigned. Support Finance team members with data entry, reporting, and analysis. Maintain accurate financial records and electronic documentation. Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve accounting-related questions. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Corporate Controller.
Specifications Required·
Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to learn. Previous office or accounting experience is a plus but not required.
Education
High school graduate Actively pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
