Job Purpose:
- The Accounting Clerk at PAY-LESS is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of the company by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely payments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
- Assist in audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.


Qualifications


Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clerical or accounting role.
- Experience with bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with team members and external parties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
