ICW/Vulnerable Adults. This position has regular contact with or control over Indian Children and Vulnerable Adults. In compliance with Federal Law, this position will not be filled by an applicant with any felonious offense or any of two or more misdemeanor offenses under Federal, State, or Tribal Law involving crimes of violence; sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact, or prostitution; crimes against persons; or offenses committed against children.
*This position requires a fingerprint check, which is a standard procedure for many jobs, especially those involving children or vulnerable populations.
The Nisqually Indian Tribe is developing a Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility on Pacific Ave in Olympia, Washington to address the opioid crisis within the Thurston County area. The Nisqually Indian Tribe is passionate about developing a whole person recovery model, keeping all services under one roof so the patient has the best possible chance of recovery. Our goal is to bring healing and wellness to the community, focusing on the entire family by serving tribal and non-tribal patients.
NATURE OF WORK:
This position is responsible for assisting with basic accounting functions such as recording expenditures, deficits, transactions, and receipts, and performing routine calculating and posting functions under direct supervision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with accounts payable and other routine accounting
- Assist with the collection, verification, recording, processing and storage of accounting data.
- Manage the file
- Monitor AP email
- Compose basic emails and process
- Distribute mail.
- Assist outside auditors by providing supporting materials or
- Prepare daily check batches, mail and pick-up
- Reconcile vendor
- Assist with contacting vendors for outstanding/unpaid
- Perform other duties as
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of accounting support or bookkeeping experience OR an equivalent combination of appropriate experience and/or post-secondary education.
- Must be able to pass a criminal history and financial background
- Must have a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the Nisqually Tribe's policy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, basic accounting principles, and office
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer and standard office programs and
- Skill in accurate and efficient data entry
