The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work

This position is responsible for managing the Trust Fund Office and assisting with the financial operations of the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women. The position performs technical accounting, bookkeeping, and financial recordkeeping functions related to offender trust accounts, staff deposits, offender service club accounts, and work release payroll.
Key Duties Included:
-Analyze data for accuracy, solve problems, and interpret regulations.
-Complete various tasks affecting the fiscal and financial operations of the respective work unit or involvement in the budget process.
-Perform various accounting functions through IBS, NCFS and E-Procurement such as, accounts receivables and payables, purchasing, P-Card reconciliation, etc.
-Order and receive supplies and equipment in E-Procurement and maintaining log; completing direct processing form (CNTR005) and maintaining log on what has been paid; maintains vendor contracts, back up as P-Card reconciler.
-Review open PO Report; run and review budget reports, budget transfers, journal vouchers and PO changes forms.
-Assist facility staff and outside vendors regarding purchase orders and/or P-card purchases Verify checks, processes and tracks direct processing form (CNTR005) payments, entering and monitoring usage orders.
-Communicate well and work well with staff at all levels.

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
