Accounting Associate

PWT is seeking an Accounting Associate to join our accounting department, reporting to our Wilmington, NC plant. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy, effective time management, and a desire to learn new skills and further professional growth. 

Essential Functions

• Accounts Receivable
  • Manages incoming payments, properly tracking them into the system to maintain accurate records
  • Collecting payments from customers and accurately recording them in the system
  • Investigate and communicate payment irregularities to the customer and/or accounting management
• Accounts Payable
  • Match, batch, code and enter AP invoices timely and accurately 
  • Investigate issues associated with invoice processing by coordinating with purchasing staff and/or vendors to determine resolution 
  • Analyze vendor statements, researching and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner 
  • Set up and review vendor files to ensure all necessary documentation has been collected 
• General Accounting
• Provide backup/coverage within the accounting team 
• Perform other duties as necessary 
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes.

• Experience with NetSuite is preferred.

 Required Education and Experience 

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting/related business field, or equivalent work experience (2+ years in hands-on AP/AR)
