The Accounting Assistant – Student Finance is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and financial support related to student and non-student revenue received by NAIT, including student payments, grants, loans, scholarships, sponsorships, and student awards.

A key responsibility of the role is the analysis and processing of student account refunds. This requires a thorough understanding of Student Financial Board (SFB), NAIT, and NAITSA policies and procedures, as well as the ability to analyze account activity, assess refund eligibility, and ensure transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with applicable requirements.

The Accounting Assistant serves as a primary point of contact for student account inquiries from students, third-party sponsors, staff, and management. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills to resolve inquiries and account issues in a confidential, accurate, and timely manner.

Qualifications

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Classification – Accounting/Finance Assistant I

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration

Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

The compensation range for this job posting is : $52,924.30 - $61,683.18
