Accounting Assistant – South Bend, IN
This opening with our client is designed as a full-time position with a consistent weekday schedule in a professional office environment. The starting pay rate for this role will be set based on the experience level of the candidate selected, with consideration given to someone who brings accounting, escrow, banking, or administrative experience and is eager to grow within the organization.
The business is seeking a dependable team player who can support escrow accounting functions with accuracy, urgency, and professionalism. It’s important that this person is organized, customer-service minded, and able to work closely with both internal staff and external clients while handling time-sensitive financial transactions.
Job Duties:
• Posting escrow-related accounting activities in a timely manner
• Assisting escrow staff with daily accounting support needs
• Sending and receiving escrow wires through online software systems
• Answering phone calls and assisting clients professionally
• Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Supporting other accounting functions as needed
• Maintaining accurate records and handling confidential financial information
• Assisting with special projects and additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous escrow, accounting, banking, or related office experience preferred
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to understand and communicate (talk-read-hear) work instructions
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
