Family First Health is seeking a Accounting Assistant for a part-time temporary position at our George Street office. This entry level position will be approximately 24 hours/week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Matches daily cash payments/remittances to incoming pharmacy payments from payers
- Records transactions and journal entries in accounting software systems.
- Completes electronic invoice process, including entering data into accounting software, and generating invoices.
- Reconciles bank statements.
- Adheres to Fiscal policies and procedures while completing general accounting tasks.
- Utilizes computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information.
- Maintains confidentiality while working with sensitive/private data.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge of basic accounting/financial information
- Knowledge of computer software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, others)
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation as it relates to correspondence necessary to perform essential job functions
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures necessary to perform essential job functions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Skill in operating office equipment
- Ability to critically think which means the ability to think clearly and rationally about what to do or what to believe; understand logical connections between ideas; and identify, construct, and evaluate arguments
- Ability to set positive examples for team members through exceptional work performance including adherence to company policies and processes.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to communicate well and in a caring and supportive manner with individuals of all backgrounds.
