JOB OVERVIEW

Bend Golf Club (BGC) is a private, member-owned Club located in Bend, Oregon, one of America’s most beautiful and dynamic cities.  The club is minutes away from the city center and the area’s plentiful recreational opportunities, including the Deschutes River, the Cascade Lakes Recreation Area, the Deschutes National Forest, and the Mt. Bachelor ski and snowboard resort.

JOB SUMMARY

Obtains revenue and pays invoices by verifying and completing payable and receivable transactions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
• Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
• Obtains revenue and expense by verifying and reconciling daily transaction information; computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices. 
• Collects revenue by posting payments, reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
• Prepares various financial reports and summarizing account information and trends, as needed.
• Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
• Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
• Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
• Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
• Respond to members’ billing questions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Administrative writing skills, data entry skills, general math skills, financial software, analyzing information, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, organizational skills, excellent verbal communication
• Excellent customer service skills

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. 
• Bachelor's or Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus.
• Previous accounts payable and/or accounts receivable experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Accounting Assistant is to be provided a desk, chair, phone line, computer, and all other normal office type supplies to help them succeed in their role here at the club.
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Moderate noise level in a work environment
