Accounting and Payroll Specialist

Our client, a well-established Electric company in Lincoln, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join their team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the consistency of accounting work, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in managing the essential day-to-day financial functions of a business. This is not a stepping-stone role—we’re looking for someone who values stability and enjoys the routine of weekly and monthly accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll taxes, filings, and compliance requirements
• Handle employee deductions including garnishments, child support, and benefits
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Assist with job costing, labor tracking, and basic construction-related accounting
• Support weekly and monthly accounting processes including reconciliations

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in payroll and accounting (construction experience strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and deductions
• Experience handling garnishments, child support, and related compliance
• Familiarity with construction payroll, job costing, or certified payroll is a plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines

Compensation:

• Salary: $80,000 – $95,000
