GENERAL FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Accounting and Commission Assistant plays a vital role in supporting both the accounting and commission calculation functions. This position is responsible for bank reconciliations, credit card statement reviews, 1099 preparation, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the role assists in commission calculations for assigned life and other lines of business to ensure timely and accurate processing.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Support
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate transaction records.
- Process and reconcile credit card statements for assigned companies.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of 1099 forms.
- Maintain and organize financial records, invoices, and other documentation.
Commission Support
- Assist with commission calculations for assigned life insurance and other business lines.
- Verify commission statements and ensure accurate payouts.
- Maintain detailed records of commission payments and discrepancies.
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve commission-related issues.
General Support
- Provide administrative assistance to the Accounting and Commission teams.
- Support audit and compliance efforts by ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Assist with other accounting and commission-related tasks as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or commission processing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
