Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and reliable Accounting Analyst to join our team in Minooka, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating financial data, performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end closing procedures, and identifying trends to support key business decisions. Operating at the intersection of accounting and operational analysis, you will ensure data accuracy, streamline routine reporting, and help optimize department workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present weekly and monthly financial reports, variance reports, and operational metrics.
• Reconciliations: Perform general ledger account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Month-End Support: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend automated or streamlined solutions.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with plant operations, purchasing, and logistics teams to audit transactions and verify cost accuracy.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent working experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data formatting) and experience with ERP/accounting software.
• High level of accuracy, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
