Accounting Analyst

Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, cost accounting support, and reporting expertise to support manufacturing operations and business objectives. This position plays a key role in analyzing production costs, monitoring financial performance, maintaining accurate accounting records, and providing meaningful insights to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Accounting Analyst works closely with Finance, Operations, Production,  Purchasing, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cost management, and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting and Manufacturing analysis
• Financial Reporting and month- end close
• Inventory Accounting and Controls 
• Labour and Production Analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Process Improvement and systems support
• Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and prepares for payment
• Enters information into the ERP System

Qualifications

Education

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA Designation or progress toward CPA Designation is considered an asset.

Experience

• 3-5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience
• Manufacturing experience preferred, with exposure to cost accounting, inventory and operational reporting
• Experience working with ERP Systems and financial reporting tools
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced Mircrosoft Excel Skills and ability to analyze large amounts of data
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast- paced environment
• High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
