Job Summary

This position is for an Accounting Analyst II for the Plant Accounting and Reporting group in the Asset Accounting department within the Controller’s organization of Duke Energy.  The Plant Accounting and Reporting group is responsible for the accounting, reporting and analysis for the Company’s fixed assets; Nuclear Fuel accounting, Asset Acquisition/Sale accounting, Allowance for Funds Used during Construction (AFUDC), Depreciation, Plant in Service reporting, Rate Case Support, and the accounting for certain Regulatory Riders.

The analyst will work closely with teammates and manager on various accounting activities including; monthly journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, financial statement analysis, and preparation of internal and external reporting.  The analyst will also interact frequently with various groups to support business transactions and decisions. The position will also help to analyze and research ad-hoc requests, develop reporting, and effectively prepare presentations for management review and decision making. This position works closely with internal teams within the Controller’s organization as well as Regulated Utility Finance, Rates & Regulatory, Tax, and External Reporting. This position will work with moderately complex property issues; therefore, strong analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment are essential.
