Job SummaryPrepare payroll garnishments and maintain organization’s payroll accounting records and financial statements. Prepare documents for garnishments and research inquiries from garnishors regarding official orders, compliance, and other claims. Research methods and present proposals to improve garnishment processes. Analyze payroll accounting records and reports and assist in preparation. Maintain knowledge of all applicable garnishment laws and regulations. Basic skill set and proficiency required. Conduct work assignments as directed. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. Must meet critical payroll reporting and other deadlines with respect to all wage garnishments. Perform general ledger reconciliations, review garnishment transactions, and process journal entries and corrections to resolve discrepancies or errors. Interact with customers and garnishors. Develop accounting systems and documents to support the input and handling of financial data and report Interpret university policies and authority sources and provide instructions and guidance to stakeholders. Review garnishment processes and procedures and recommend improvements for best practices and compliance. Provide excellent customer service and timely support to stakeholders. Responsible person on other assigned departmental tasks and projects.Minimum QualificationsEQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.
