Recruiting for an Accountant to support the Marine Systems business in Houston. This role will play a key role within the finance team and will be visible to the whole organization.
The accountant will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and administrative support to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial processes. Skilled at processing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with reports and documentation. Committed to ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and facilitating the month-end close.
About the Role
- Assist with preparation of project forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, and journal entries within IRFS 15/ US GAAP standard compliance.
- Collaborate with sales, project management, and accounting teams regarding project financial reporting.
- Identify potential financial risks or variances and communicate them proactively.
- Provide accounting support for intercompany / multi-product group project processes. (Expansions in Canada & other product groups)
- Support month-end closing process including reconciliations and consolidation system input.
- Assist with external and internal audits to confirm compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal control procedures.
- Maintain organized financial documentation according to company policies.
- Payroll Processing support: Calculating and distributing employees’ salaries, taxes, expense reimbursements, and benefits accurately.
- Audit and post employee reimbursement expense transactions into the ERP financial system & Payroll system.
- Prepare payroll general entries, reconciliation of payroll cost and liabilities to subledger.
- Assist the Controller and President / PG Director with presentations as required.
About the Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in project accounting, payroll, or administrative support.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
- Proficiency with financial, payroll software systems, and MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
