GEAR UP FOR YOUR ROLE:
As an Accountant at Team Car Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our business with a focus on facilities and compliance-related expenses. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual with 1-3 years of accounting experience who can help us process and maintain accurate financial records, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with approximately 500 locations.
HOW YOU WILL DRIVE SUCCESS:
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations in support of the month-end close process
- Maintain fixed asset records, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Prepare payroll-related accruals and payroll tax reconciliations in partnership with Payroll and Tax teams
- Perform accounting and reconciliation activities related to rent expense, percentage rent, and property tax accruals
- Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules and related monthly amortization entries
- Support accounting for intangible assets, including amortization schedules and reconciliations
- Assist with debt-related accounting activities, reconciliations, and supporting schedules, as needed
- Research variances, investigate discrepancies, and analyze financial activity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper accounting treatment
- Maintain ownership of assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts, including understanding underlying business drivers and transactional activity
- Support internal and external audit requests through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Identify and support process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives within the accounting function
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and support business operations
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned
UNDER THE HOOD – WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, financial statements, and month-end close processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
