Reports To: Accounting Manager
Classification: Exempt, Full-Time
Work Environment: On-Site
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager in the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization. This position plays a key role in general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional seeking long-term growth and advancement within a finance organization
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Support all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Budgeting.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and analyze variances.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
- Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with external accounting partners regarding tax filings, audits, and reporting obligations.
- Monitor internal controls and safeguard organizational assets.
- Support asset management and risk management initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Monthly Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Annually, support year-end close activities, audits, and annual reporting requirements.
Growth & Advancement Opportunities
- As the role develops, responsibilities may expand to include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for banking relationships, external auditors, retirement plan providers, insurance carriers, and other financial partners.
- Supervising accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Accounting functions.
- Assisting in the leadership and development of accounting staff.
- Overseeing the preparation and distribution of monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Supporting audit preparation and annual budgeting processes.
- Reviewing and processing insurance-related billings, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate reporting.

Education
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Experience 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
