Accountant

Accountant – South Bend, IN

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to provide temporary support to their accounting team. This is a full-time opportunity with Monday through Friday hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm. 

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured financial environment and can step in with minimal training. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial services, and preferably experience working within a credit union or similar financial institution. 

Job Duties:

• Performing general accounting and financial support functions
• Assisting with account reconciliations and financial record maintenance
• Processing accounting transactions accurately and efficiently
• Supporting month-end and daily accounting activities
• Maintaining accurate financial documentation and records
• Assisting the accounting team with additional projects as assigned

This opportunity is a great fit for someone with previous accounting experience who is looking for a temporary assignment in a professional financial services environment. Candidates with credit union or banking experience will be especially well suited for this role. 

Requirements:

• Previous accounting experience required
• Knowledge of financial services and accounting practices
• Credit union experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
