We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and focus on key technical accounting areas, like lease accounting, debt accounting and intercompany accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting, strong aptitude for technical research, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information to external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Manage periodic journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts (e.g., leases, debt accounting, prepaids, etc.)
Blackline administration encompassing user setup/access, month-end and year-end close tasks, journal entries, and reconciliation assignments.
Perform intercompany transaction reconcilement and coordinate company eliminations for financial consolidation.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements and play an active role in the implementation of new accounting standards and initiatives.
Prepare and coordinate supporting schedules, footnotes, and documentation for external financial audits and reviews.
Support GL chart of accounts maintenance and associated financial statement mapping.
Aid the accounting team in day-to-day activities, special projects, and workflow process improvements.
Support tie-out of the financial systems (e.g. Adaptive to EPICOR).
Aid the accounting team in day-to-day activities, special projects, and workflow process improvements.
Assist junior staff members, fostering their professional development
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on general accounting and external reporting.
Working knowledge of Blackline tasks, reconciliations, and/or journals and Blackline administration
Working knowledge of GAAP with an insatiable appetite for technical research.
Familiarity in financial reporting systems and software (e.g., EPICOR, Adaptive, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including project management skills.
High level of integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards.
Adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a dynamic organization.
