Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that financial transactions are accurately documented.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable cycle including but not limited to entering all vendor invoices to accounting software and generating payments.
- Manage the finance email inbox and respond to vendor inquiries as needed.
- Responsible for recording all credit card activity including Home Depot and PEX card activity.
- Responsible for recording all bank transactions not processed through the accounting system, e.g. transfers, bank fees etc.
- Monitor bank account activity weekly for chargebacks and other activity
- Enter and reconcile accounts receivable to ensure that all invoices and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Make deposits via the remote desktop scanner and record receipts in accounting software.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all landlord rent payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure all financial documentation is filed electronically (and physically where applicable) according to internal procedures.
- Process payments for clients savings accounts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an associate degree with accounting coursework is preferred.
- At least three years of accounting experience is required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Uphold a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
