About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will assist with the full cycle accounting process for DAK Capital and subsidiary companies. In addition, they will be responsible for assisting with the full cycle accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creating and entry, providing detailed analysis, explanation and documentation.
Your Focus in this Role:
- Responsible for posting journal entries, preparing general ledger reconciliation and month end working papers
- Responsible for receiving and entering accounts payable invoices
- Responsible for entering monthly investment statements and preparing associated reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation and filing of monthly GST returns
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year end consolidation schedules for DAK Capital and subsidiary companies
- Other duties as required

Education, Experience and Skills:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting is required
- Minimum 1 – 2 years in an accounting background or related field is required
- CPA Designation will be considered an asset
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, Caseware and Prophix is an asset
- Experience with accounts payable processing and accrual accounting is an asset
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with staff
