About the Role
We are seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team at our Henderson facility. This role is responsible for overseeing operational and cost accounting processes, ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient preparation of financial information to support the Company’s financial objectives. This is a hybrid role with management accountant duties included in this position. Working in partnership with the Finance team, the role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company’s accounting processes, financial reporting, internal controls, and the overall quality of financial outputs.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts as part of the month-end close process, including detailed revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting by project and entity
- Reconcile finished goods, work-in-progress (WIP), and raw materials, ensuring inventory is accurately valued at the lower of net realisable value (NRV) and selling price
- Prepare monthly sales reporting, variance analysis, and expense reporting, including gross margin analysis and key production variances (materials, labour, and overheads)
- Monitor standard costing for raw materials and finished goods, including analysis of inventory levels, manufacturing efficiency, and cost variances
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including general ledger (GL) reconciliation and asset movements
- Support the Group Accountant in reviewing and monitoring business costs and financial performance
- Partner with operational teams including Projects, Quality, Engineering, and Materials Planning to ensure accurate costing, billing, production data, and inventory controls
- Support inventory management processes and ensure accuracy of stock costing and unit rates
- Update weekly cash flow reporting with actual financial data
- Act as ERP system super user, including training users and developing standard operating procedures for accounting processes
- Provide support to the wider Finance team, including cover during leave periods and peak workload times
- Undertake ad hoc financial and accounting tasks as required by management
Skills And Experiences
About You
To be successful in this role, you are a motivated and detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment. You are analytical, organised, and comfortable working with operational teams
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting, supporting entry into CA/CPA accreditation
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical, planning, and organisational abilities with a results-oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a team
