Position Scope
The Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations across accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, tax administration, and month-end close activities. This role serves as a flexible accounting resource responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance requirements, assisting with financial reporting, and providing accounting support across the organization. The Accountant partners closely with the Controller and Accounting Team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations while supporting continued organizational growth
Location & Travel: Onsite in West Fargo, ND.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, supporting schedules, and journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, variances, and reconciliation issues.
- Maintain sales tax exemption certificates and assist with sales and use tax compliance activities.
- Research state and local tax requirements and assist with establishing new tax accounts as needed.
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management review.
- Support external audits by providing requested documentation and information.
- Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Project Management, and other departments to resolve accounting-related matters.
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including reconciliations, payment processing, collections, and resolution of billing or vendor discrepancies when needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Provide accounting support across the department as business needs require.
Education and Work Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience required.
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions preferred.
- Construction, renewable energy, or project-based industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Spectrum, Viewpoint, or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
