Position Overview:

We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team supporting a multi-entity federal contractor. This role is hands-on and operational. The person in this seat will be directly involved in month-end close execution, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple subsidiary entities. This is not a maintenance role. We are building finance infrastructure from the ground up to support significant anticipated growth.

Responsibilities:

• Execute month-end close tasks across multiple entities (including but not limited to journal entries, adjustments, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, AP/AR to GL reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, accrued leave reconciliation)
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries
• Assist with WIP (work in progress) calculations and revenue recognition entries
• Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis
• Maintain compliance with internal close deadlines and documentation standards
• Collaborate with billing, payroll, and project management teams to ensure accurate cost accumulation

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation)
• Experience with full-cycle month-end close
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and problem-solve without constant direction

Preferred Qualifications:

• Government contracting (GovCon) accounting experience
• Experience with Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or similar GovCon ERP systems
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Familiarity with FAR Part 31 cost principles and indirect rate structures
