We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant II to join our finance team in Coppell, Texas. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial reporting, general accounting, and financial analysis within a dynamic logistics and supply chain environment.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, prepare financial reports, analyze financial data, and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze revenues, expenses, financial commitments, and operating costs.
- Prepare financial reports for management review.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing financial analysis and recommendations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Support tax preparation and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist with continuous process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency.
- Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
- Experience supporting financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industries is a plus.
