Starting Salary Range: $65,068.00 - $77,453.00

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, performs professional accounting work in support of the City's financial operations. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries and financial reports, reconciling accounts, supporting the annual audit process, and monitoring grant compliance. Exercises independent judgment on routine accounting matters and refers complex or sensitive issues to a supervisor. Work is reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment with regular use of computers, financial software, and other standard office equipment. Work involves periodic interaction with employees, departments, external auditors, and grant agencies, requiring effective communication and collaboration.

Work may involve sitting, standing, moving throughout facilities, attending meetings, and traveling between City facilities as needed.

Work schedules may occasionally extend beyond standard business hours to support month-end and year-end close, budget preparation, audit activities, or other financial deadlines.

The employee may occasionally move or handle work-related materials or equipment such as files, binders, or office supplies as necessary to support business operations.
