As an Accountant I, II, III you will be responsible for the following:
Providing TFCU with a wide range of accounting services while correctly applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Providing a wide range of additional services outside the more common duties of their position, including but not limited to accounts payable or analyst-level duties
Completing duties including, but not limited to, wire transfers, General Ledger (GL) entries or reconciliation, various levels of reporting, branch currency procurement, branch and miscellaneous other deposits, balance investment portfolio(s) and fixed asset, and aiding with the preparation of the quarterly National Credit Union Association (NCUA) Call Report
Completing more routine day-to-day accounting services
Maintaining all service levels lower than their own as a level Completing more moderately complex services as a level II
Salary:
This is a non-exempt position. The starting hourly rate for a level II, is $33.70; however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity.
Education/Experience: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or one that is relatable is required for the remaining levels (for relatable degrees, levels II, III must have 15 hours of accounting, and 30 hours of accounting for the Sr Level). Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education.
A level II: Requires one year of experience related to accounting and/or finance. Financial institution experience is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Incumbent Bonding is REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority.
Keys to success:
In order to be successful as an Accountant II you must possess these qualifications:
Knowledge of GAAP and TFCU policies and procedures. Ability to use credit union and accounting systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with familiarity using pivot tables and intermediate formulas. Must have strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
