JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant performs professional accounting work in support of the agency’s financial operations, including maintaining and reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, processing transactions, and supporting budget and audit activities. Working under general direction, the position applies accounting principles, state financial policies, and agency procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely processing of expenditures and revenues, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  This position also supports Financial Services and Royalty Compliance by reviewing royalty compliance payment entries for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation before final processing or posting.
