Axiom Care is a fast-paced, rapidly growing substance abuse treatment and sober living housing provider with locations in the Phoenix metro area and Apache Junction. We primarily serve low-income and justice-involved individuals who are seeking to change their life for the better. We achieve this by offering multiple levels of care along with medical services, evidence-based professional counseling, case management, housing assistance, employment assistance, and more.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8 hours (Full-time- Exempt)
Job Summary
Accountant I responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports for several entities, performing account reconciliations, assisting the billing department with collections and reporting, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager as needed and responding to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
To be successful as a Accounting Specialist, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). An outstanding Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliation and assisting with monthly close processes
• Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits
• Assisting the billing department with collections and reporting
• Performing intercompany account reconciliations
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Assisting the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager as needed

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
