Hennessey Collective is partnering with a respected organization in the national van line and logistics industry to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle while providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship within a collaborative finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong bookkeeping expertise, a hands-on approach, and previous experience within the moving and storage or van line industry.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Manage and oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger maintenance, and journal entries.
- Coordinate month-end activities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Perform account reconciliations and support financial reporting requirements.
Specialized Industry Billing
- Oversee van line invoicing, quarterly billing, and monthly government vehicle invoicing.
- Process and supervise government invoicing related to LTS, Air, and Sea shipments.
- Manage long-distance and local claims administration while ensuring accurate revenue distribution.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and bookkeeping experience.
- At least 2 years of experience leading or mentoring a team.
- Previous experience working within the moving, storage, or van line industry is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles and financial operations.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a collaborative leadership style.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
