Accountant

We're partnering with a well-established Eastern Ontario organization to find an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you'll play a key role in month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate tax compliance while supporting process improvements across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and file direct and indirect tax returns and related analysis.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
• Assist with corporate tax reporting and coordinate with external advisors.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars, licenses, and required documentation.
• Support tax audits by gathering information and performing technical analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline tax and accounting processes.
• Prepare cash tax forecasts and assist with special projects and internal audits.
• Stay current on changes to Canadian tax legislation.

What We're Looking For

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to tax.
• Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience working with external auditors and government agencies.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with SQL; Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
