JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the cost center manager for the Baruch Institute, providing fiscal oversight, budget monitoring, and financial support for departmental operations. Reviews financial transactions, analyzes budget activity, and makes recommendations to project managers and the Director to support sound fiscal management. Assists with annual budget preparation, administrative operations, and office management functions. Completes other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES:
5% - Director & Executive Assistant Support: Serves as backup to the Executive Assistant as needed. Assists the Director with daily operational activities, business functions, program coordination, and special projects. Provides administrative and organizational support to ensure efficient department operations.

10% - Administrative/Office Support: Answers and directs telephone calls and greets visitors. Retrieves and distributes mail from the post office box. Organizes and maintains departmental files and records. Procures office supplies and coordinates office support activities.Manages facility rental billing, including summer student lodging.Maintains records for departmental vehicles, including mileage rates, license plates, insurance information, fuel cards, and decals.

10% - Reporting: Reviews budget reports to ensure expenditures are posted accurately and fund balances are maintained appropriately. Completes monthly reconciliation processes for departmental accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with University policies and procedures. Monitors error reports on a weekly basis and works proactively to resolve discrepancies. Prepares financial and budget reports for the Director and other stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

45% - Fiscal Support: Performs daily accounting and fiscal operations for the Baruch Institute. Coordinates procurement, disbursement, and revenue activities in accordance with Clemson University policies and procedures. Ensures timely deposit of revenues and serves as the primary expense data entry specialist for procurement card transactions. Processes accounts payable activities, verifies funding availability, and ensures all required supporting documentation is attached before expenditures are processed. Completes Internal Service Deliveries (ISDs) for laboratory charges, cottages, and mileage. Provides sponsored program support by verifying that expenditures are allowable, allocable, and supported by available funding. Consults with the Post-Award Accountant regarding funding availability and expenditure allowability as needed.

30% - Budget Management: Advises the Director on budget requests and fiscal management matters. Monitors budgets and expenditures to ensure spending remains within approved funding levels. Processes journal entries and budget corrections as needed. Collaborates with the Experiment Station Business Manager (ESBM) on spending authority increases and budget amendment needs. Assists the ESBM, Executive Assistant, and Director during annual budget development, including salary budget review and preparation. Performs budget data entry and maintains budget records.JOB CODE:

A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.

Expected Salary Range
-Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
