PURPOSE OF POSITION
Primary function is to perform or assist in all aspects of accounting, including general ledger account reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate or equivalent with 2 years of higher education in accounting or a related field.
Training and Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position. Experience managing general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing processes. Experience supporting payroll and cash management functions
General Skills: Must be able to manage multiple projects, work with little to no supervision, be detail-oriented, analyze problems and find resolutions, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Costpoint/Deltek computer software experience preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and financial reports
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Maintain and track fixed assets, including depreciation schedules
- Monitor daily cash balances and support cash forecasting activities
- Prepare and support annual budgeting processes
- Manage accounts receivable, including cash receipts and collections
- Support accounts payable functions as needed
- Assist with payroll preparation and payroll tax processing
- Prepare month-end billing for multiple contracts
- Maintain contract modifications and financial tracking
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for leadership
- Manage company credit cards and related reconciliations
- Maintain accurate records of bank deposits and cash activity
- Support tax filings, including local, state, and business taxes as required
- Maintain petty cash and perform periodic reconciliations
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks and reporting as assigned
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
