Job Title: Accountant, Corporate Accounting
Letko, Brosseau & Associés est à la recherche de personnes qualifiées pour postuler au poste de Comptable corporatif. Le comptable corporatif assiste l’équipe de comptabilité corporative dans l’ensemble des activités dont elle est responsable : comptes payables, dossiers administratifs, préparation des budgets, préparation des états financiers de la firme ainsi que ceux des fonds communs gérés par celle-ci, des audits annuels de Letko Brosseau et Associés et des fonds, documentation des procédures et amélioration continue des processus. Le comptable corporatif peut aussi assister l’équipe de comptabilité des Fonds de façon régulière ou sporadique.
We are looking for qualified individuals to apply for the role of Accountant, Corporate Accounting. The Corporate Accountant assists the Corporate Accounting team in all the activities for which it is responsible: accounts payable, administrative files, preparation of budgets, preparation of the firm's financial statements as well as those of the mutual funds, annual audits of Letko Brosseau and Associates and the funds, documentation of procedures and continuous improvement of processes. The Corporate Accountant can also assist the Fonds' accounting team on a regular or sporadic basis.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis.
- Maintain and analysis of documents and responsible for communications related to employee expenses (weekly, quarterly report, rates, templates, etc.).
- Ensure the preparation and filing of various legal and administrative documents related to the firm's operations (e.g., the 1% Training Act, the GST/QST Report of the firm and the Letko Brosseau Mutual Funds and the Report on payroll deductions).
- Participate in the preparation of the quarterly consolidated budget.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the firm and its affiliated companies.
- Assist in the preparation of the half-year and annual financial statements of Letko Brosseau Funds.
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit file of Letko Brossseau & Ass. and Funds.
- Assist in documenting the procedures of the corporate accounting team.
- Work on the continuous improvement of the firm's accounting practices.
- Various recurring tasks related to the Letko Brosseau Funds' accounting (reconciliations, etc.).
Required Profile
- University certificate in accounting.
- 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in the Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written.
- Frequent communications with employees in Canada.
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards.
