The Bank Accounting team falls within the Corporate Accounting team. We provide the accounting for Zions Bancorporation’s affiliate companies, month end close and consolidation of company general ledgers, recording of daily cash transactions, monthly income and expense accruals, reconciliations and research of nightly process clearing general ledgers, and accounting support for the banks business units. We also work with the banks internal and external auditors to provide supporting documentation as requested. Our focus is on standardizing and automating as many processes as possible to free up time for critical thinking activities.
We are currently seeking an Accountant as part of our Bank Accounting department. The policy states 5 days in the office. If you want to learn a broad array of skills within the accounting profession, this is the group for you. There are plenty of growth opportunities within the enterprise.
Accountant duties include, but are not limited to:
- Research and clear daily general ledger outstanding items
- Monitor Oracle Workflow and follow-up on unposted entries
- Prepare daily Telecheck settlement, and process any additional wires as necessary
- Post third party property management entries
- Prepare and post monthly entries such as cash transactions in various accounts
- Provide accounting support for Bank affiliates and subsidiaries such as reviewing financial statement fluctuations, calculate tax accruals, revenue accruals, allowance for bad debt, etc.
- Maintain subledgers for various asset and liability accounts
- Test and document Sarbanes-Oxley controls throughout the year
- Cross-train to provide back-up and support for other group members
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting preferred, or comparable work experience
- Knowledge of GAAP preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, and with Oracle EBS a plus,
- Self-Starter with a positive and team player attitude, who can succeed individually and part of a team, works independently, adopts well to changes, and can work under tight deadlines.
