A leading digital streaming network seeks an Accountantto support all accounting functions related to GCD-Content Licensing contracts. This role will focus on month-end and quarter-end close activities, revenue recognition, general ledger reconciliations, audit support, financial analysis, and reporting across multiple accounting systems in a fast-paced studio accounting environment.
AccountantResponsibilities:
- Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, including revenue recognition, trial balance reconciliations, journal entries, clearing account reconciliations, bad debt analysis, foreign exchange variance analysis, and compliance with GAAP and SOX controls.
- Analyze and report on GCD license agreements, payment terms, revenue share tracking, inter/intra-company reporting, present value analysis, forecast vs. actual performance, and ad hoc financial reporting requests.
- Support internal and external audits (including compliance and statutory audits), maintain accurate financial reporting, and ensure adherence to accounting controls and regulatory requirements.
- Review and maintain accounting sub-systems and contract data within PRISM, TVR, TREC, SAP, Oracle, and Oracle Fusion environments, including testing, troubleshooting, reporting, and revenue analysis activities.
- Collaborate with Deal Management, IT, Accounting, and cross-functional teams to support system updates, contract reviews, invoice creation, reconciliations, and ongoing accounting operations for content licensing activities.
Accountant Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Strong experience with general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and revenue recognition.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits and maintaining SOX compliance controls.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Oracle Fusion, Cognos, PRISM, TVR, TREC, Business Warehouse (BW), and/or SmartView is preferred.
- Entertainment or studio accounting industry experience is preferred.
- CPA is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime during month-end and quarter-end close periods, including occasional weekend work.
Shift:
- 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- Overtime is expected during month-end and quarter-end closings, including one weekend per quarter, with some extended hours allowed remotely.
