Accountant

Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant to join their growing team. This position is based just outside of St. John's, NL, offering a hybrid work arrangement and an easy commute of approximately 30 minutes south of the city. 
Working closely with ownership and external accountants, this is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of businesses spanning industries including construction, hospitality, storage, powersports, commercial fishing, and retail.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple companies (approximately 5–6 entities)
• Prepare and file HST remittances
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
• Manage day-to-day banking activities
• Assist with inventory accounting
• Liaise with external accounting firm to support corporate year-end processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal processes

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience in a multi-company or fast-paced environment is an asset
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
