Job Description
Our client is seeking a bright and motivated Accountant to join their team in Dartmouth. This is a permanent full-time, hands-on accounting role supporting a dynamic organization with diversified operations across the legal and property management sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and dive into full cycle operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Managing trust accounting functions
- Processing accounts payable, including invoice entry and payment preparation
- Performing bank reconciliations and trust account reconciliations
- Preparing and organizing payments, including cheque requests and cheque signing coordination
- Supporting accounts receivable functions where required
- Assisting with financial statements and reporting preparation
- Working with commercial online banking platforms for transactions and account management
- General administrative, accounting, and operational support as needed
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or finance
- 2+ years of hands-on, full cycle accounting experience
- Previous exposure to trust accounting is strong asset
- Experience in real estate accounting or legal accounting is an advantage
- Eager to learn and open to developing new skills
- Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable working in a structured, in-office environment
- Collaborative team player who communicates well with others
