A/R Billing Specialist

Position Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, maintaining client account records, resolving billing discrepancies, and providing excellent customer service related to billing inquiries. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Billing & Account Management 
• Prepare, review, and process billing invoices accurately and efficiently
• Verify billing information for completeness and accuracy
• Maintain client billing records and account documentation
• Ensure all billing deadlines are met in a timely manner
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or errors
• Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections follow-up as needed Customer Service & Communication
• Respond to client and internal billing inquiries professionally and promptly
• Communicate billing updates, corrections, and changes to clients as needed
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing-related concerns Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
•  Maintain accurate electronic and paper records
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and billing regulations
•  Assist with audits, reporting, and billing reconciliation processes
•  Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current on billing practices and systems

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred 
• Previous billing, accounting, administrative, or healthcare office experience preferred 
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software systems 
• Excellent organizational and time management skills 
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information 
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Physical Requirements 

•  Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
