About the Job

We are expanding our Corporate Finance team and seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Accountant to join us as we scale globally.  This role will be responsible for supporting various tax compliance, research, and reporting activities. You will play a key role in leading the domestic and foreign tax return preparation process, including federal, state and local income tax returns, U.S. sales tax returns, and various GST/VAT returns, while being exposed to various other areas of taxation. The person in this role reports to the Senior Manager – Global Tax Compliance.

 Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as the company‚Äôs tax calendar
  • Prepare tax account reconciliations; propose journal entries to support the month-end close process
  • Assist in responding to tax audits and notices
  • Coordinate with external CPA firm(s) regarding income tax returns
  • Manage the tax provision process, including quarterly and annual preparation and analysis of the ASC 740 provisions in support of our tax, accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Work closely with the tax and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of income taxes in compliance with ASC 740
  • Prepare and maintain detailed working papers, including but not limited to depreciation schedules and book-to-tax adjustments; reconciliation of income tax liabilities and reviewing other tax-related adjustments; deferred tax assets and liabilities; uncertain tax positions, and tax disclosures for financial statements
  • Assist with business license renewals and other tax-related filings
  • Identify areas to bring efficiency to the tax reporting process, including automation initiatives related to tax
  • Participate in special projects as needed


Requirements

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 2+ years‚Äô experience in tax compliance, tax reporting, or ASC 740 provisions, preferably in a public accounting or large corporate environment
  • Knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and multi-state tax compliance
  • Proven skill set in federal, state and local tax compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to take the initiative for process improvements and to optimize the compliance preparation process
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven analytical skills; ability to interpret complex tax data and financial information
  • Ability to interact with external parties such as third-party tax preparers, auditors and tax jurisdiction authorities

Preferred Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant, or progress towards sitting for the CPA Exam
  • Experience with international tax compliance
  • Experience with NetSuite or other comparable ERP systems
  • Comfortable with apportionment calculations and multiple book-to-tax adjustments
  • Experience with tax provision software (CorpTax, OneSource, GoSystems etc.) preferred
  • Working knowledge of R&D Tax Credit and transfer pricing
  • Working knowledge of software-as-a-service (Saas) and/or cybersecurity industries
