Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant isresponsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
- Perform daily balancing of significant general ledger accounts, including branch cash and coin, ATM cash GLs, client GLs, transfer clearing GLs, and GL exceptions.
- Research and resolve out-of-balance issues, discrepancies, incorrect entries, and other reconciling items.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for all assigned general ledgers.
- Research and resolve stale-dated items within established timeframe guidelines for each general ledger account.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve stale-dated items and operational variances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (two years of equivalent experience may substitute for each year of education).
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger reconciliations, month-end closing processes, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- A minimum of one year of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution.
- Experience with Symitar core banking software.
