Position Summary:

Medicine Express is growing and will be adding a Staff Accountant to support the Director of Finance and Billing Department. This position is based in Belleville, Illinois. The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Finance while working closely with the President of Medicine Express.

As the Staff Accountant, You will impact our business and the lives of our patients by:

  • Developing, implementing, and documenting policies and processes for the billing and finance team, that produce financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Leader for managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, understanding that these processes need to be reevaluated and improved
  • Champion customer success by implementing processes that improve customer experience with billing.
  • Generate reports that will assist with analyzing trends and researching variables of financials, month end close, and inventory.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close to include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analyses, and accruals
  • This role requires significant customer interaction, you will answer phone calls and emails routinely.
  • As needed, you will assist with preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor�s in Accounting or Finance, with 1+ years� experience preparing financial information for internal and external distribution with strong attention to detail and creating robust and actionable financial and operational analysis.
  • Healthcare experience - including working knowledge of pharmacy management systems and electronic medical records, is a plus.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as self-motivated and self- directed to successfully work independently.
  • Strong technical proficiency working in complex systems including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Platform flows highly desirable.
  • Sense of professional curiosity and entrepreneurship, desire to learn new things and to find/recommend solutions to problems with a passion to achieve results through self-motivation and proactive orientation.
  • Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, employees and the overall facility

This job operates in a health care setting. This position requires frequent standing and walking to storage shelves and filling counters to fill prescriptions.
