Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally. The Senior Accountant will also support audits and process improvements.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Lead or significantly support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to management.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations and Payroll.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.

Required Experience & Competencies

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably Syteline) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
• Exposure to cost accounting.
• Experience supporting system implementations or process automation.
