Senior Accountant

About the Role:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations within the information industry sector. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and the integrity of accounting processes. The Senior Accountant will lead month-end and year-end closing activities, analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing best practices in accounting. Ultimately, the Senior Accountant contributes to the organization's financial health by delivering timely, precise, and insightful financial information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the information technology or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent certification.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Familiarity with tax regulations specific to the information industry.
• Advanced skills in data analysis and financial modeling.
• Prior experience leading accounting teams or projects.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve any accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities by providing detailed financial analysis and insights.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and assist in tax filings and reporting.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff to foster professional development and maintain high-quality work standards.
