Description

Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide.

We are currently seeking a full- time Accounting Manager to join our corporate accounting team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of the assigned contracts.

  • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team including month, quarter and year end close, accounts receivable and accounts payable for the assigned contracts, cash receipts for all contracts, medical claims accounting, general ledger entries and profit & loss variance analysis for the assigned contracts
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing and collections.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.¬†
  • Ensuring staff is cross trained on responsibilities to cover when a team member is out of office.


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree in Accounting
  • 8 years or more related experience required
  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proven work experience as Accounting Manager.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational and time management skills to help track and prioritize ongoing projects and tasks
  • Ability to direct and supervise
